Why the pit?
and not somewhere else...?
BY STUDENTS, FOR STUDENTS
Operated by Alma Mater Society of UBC (AMS).
Since it is operated by students, they want to promote it to students / spend more time with students.
ENTRANCE IS FREE EVERY WEDNESDAY
Free for all UBC students! Students love to go there for fun, take a break during the week, meet new people etc.
CONVENIENT
Students living on campus can go back to their residence safely and wouldn’t need to spend money on Uber.
Also very near to the bus loop. Those who live far from campus can also have fun at the pit and still catch the bus after clubbing
Staying safe when clubbing !
1
Always eat before you club so that your body can handle the alcohol. To be safe, you have to drink responsibly, and to drink responsibility - you have to eat a lot.
3
Go with a trusted group of friends so that you are able to look out for one another. Ensure that there is at least one sober person in the group to take care of the rest.
2
If you think you are getting drunk / getting to a point where you won’t be able to control yourself, stop drinking, or else you may black out.
4
Wear comfortable shoes - when clubbing, you are dancing and walking around especially at The Pit, if you are walking to The Pit and back home. Wearing heels are not recommended, your feet will swell up
5
Do not leave your drinks unattended, in case anyone spikes your drink.
Measures in place to curb misbehaviours
Campus security or bouncers will step in. In more severe cases / emergency, there may be a police case.
When one is too intoxicated, they will not be allowed into the club/will be kicked out by the bouncer.
How do people get back safely?
To make use of Safewalk, call 604-822-5355 or drop by their office between 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM at NEST 1314
